(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, along
with U.S. Representatives Marion Berry (D-1), John Boozman (D-3), Mike
Ross (D-4), and Vic Snyder (D-2) today announced multiple fire departments
in Arkansas will receive $582,683 in grants from the Department of Homeland
Securitys Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Fire Prevention and Safety
Grant (FP&S) program.
The Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety Program includes training,
wellness and fitness, firefighting equipment, personal protective equipment,
and modifications to fire stations and facilities. The following
departments have been awarded grants:
First Congressional District:
Butlerville Volunteer Fire Department; Ward, AR - $49,500 for a firefighting
vehicle
Union Hill Thida Volunteer Fire Department; Bradford, AR - $21,735
for operations and firefighter safety
Austin Volunteer Fire Department; Austin, AR - $49,410 for operations
and firefighter safety
Bethesda Area Rural Fire & Community Development Association;
Batesville, AR - $37,274 for operations and firefighter safety
Second Congressional District:
Maumelle Department of Public Safety / Fire Department; Maumelle,
AR - $139,385 for operations and firefighter safety
Quail Creek Fire Department; Little Rock, AR - $42,765 for operations
and firefighter safety
West Pulaski Fire Protection District 23; Little Rock, AR - $94,586
for operations and firefighter safety
Liberty Volunteer Fire Department; Conway, AR - $44,370 for operations
