Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.) announced that The Buckville Volunteer Fire Department
in Jessieville has been awarded a $24,739 grant for Fire Operations and
Firefighter Safety under the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
2003 Assistance to Firefighter Grant Program.
“This grant funding will help the Buckville volunteers get the resources they need for training, wellness and fitness, firefighting equipment, personal protective equipment, and modifications to their facility,” Ross said. “These tools are essential to ensuring that rural volunteer firefighters have what they need to continue protecting lives and property.” These awards are part of the tenth round of grant announcements. To date, more than 2,300 fire departments have received roughly $150 million to support their role as first responders in the neighborhoods and communities they serve as firefighters. |
