Ross Announces 7th Round of FEMA Fire Grants for 4th District Departments

(Washington, D.C.) Fourth District Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.) announced that seven fire departments in the Fourth District have been included in the seventh round of grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) 2003 Assistance to Firefighter Grant Program.

“This round of fire grants brings $266,639 to seven rural communities in our district,” Ross said.  “That funding will go a long way toward helping our local firefighters protect people and property.  For residents of these areas, firefighters serve as first responders to a number of emergencies in addition to fires.  These volunteers put their lives on the line, these grants will help to make sure that they are working with the best equipment and training possible.”
