(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Rep. Mike Ross (AR-04) on Wednesday announced
he received the, 2005 Leading Light of Long Term Care Award. Ross
was honored by the Arkansas Healthcare Association, the American Healthcare
Association, and the National Center for Assisted Living in recognition
of his support for Medicaid and long term care issues.
I am humbled to receive this very special award, said Ross.
Such an acknowledgement like this means a great deal to me, not only as
your Representative in the United States Congress, but also as a fellow
citizen. Whether or not we are a beneficiary ourselves, or have a
loved one who is, Medicare and Medicaid issues are critical to all of us,
especially those that relate to long term care.
Ross is a member of the United States House Committee on Energy and
Commerce, which has jurisdiction over many healthcare matters such as Medicaid.
The Energy and Commerce Committee has held several Medicaid specific hearings
relating to long term care issues. |
