(Washington, D.C.) Fourth District
Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.) announced on Monday that the U.S. Department of
Transportation will release $1,043,175 for the Greenville Bridge over the
Mississippi River in Chicot County.
“The Greenville Bridge is crucial to keep up the flow of travel and commerce across the Mississippi River into Arkansas,” Ross said. “We worked hard to secure this funding during the 2003 appropriations process, and I am pleased to see this money delivered so that this crucial project can keep moving. The construction of the Greenville Bridge means more jobs and economic opportunities for Chicot County and all of Southeast Arkansas.” The funding will be released in the form of a Federal Highway Administration Discretionary Bridge, Replacement and Rehabilitation Category grant on June 11, 2003. |
