Ross Announces $278,000 for Community Development in Texarkana
 
(Washington, D.C.) Fourth District Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.) announced on Monday that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has approved a Community Development Block Grant worth $278,000 for Texarkana. 

“This funding will go to help a number of worthwhile projects, each aimed at improving the quality of life for the people of Texarkana,” Ross said.

Funding from the community development grant will be used in the following projects: 

  • Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) 
  • Ozan Carver Community Childcare 
  • Refuge – Faith based development 
  • AHEC 
  • Tri-Community CDC 
  • Sandflat Glendale Shannon Community Development Corporation 
  • Faith, Love and Hope Youth Corporation 
  • Vera Bradfield Neighborhood Center 
  • Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts 
  • Miller County Senior Center 
  • Boys and Girls Club 
  • Weed and Seed Strategy 
  • TUTD (city transit system) 
  • Public Works 
  • Public Facilities Improvements 
  • Parks and Recreation 
  • Housing Rehabilitation and Correction of Emergency Code Violations 
  • Administration
