(Prescott, AR) U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, along
with U.S. Rep. Mike Ross, announced Tuesday the Federal Aviation Administration
is awarding a federal grant in the amount of $73,625, to conduct an airport
master plan study.
“Our regional and municipal airports serve a critical role in supporting
Arkansas’ economy by linking our nation’s transportation infrastructure,"
Lincoln said. "I’m pleased that Bearce Airport is receiving this funding
to conduct these necessary surveys, which will ultimately benefit the residents
and businesses in Mount Ida."
“Updated and dependable facilities at our airports can have a tremendous
impact on a community’s economic development,” Pryor said. “This award
is welcome news, and will help officials at Bearce Airport plan for the
future and keep passengers and pilots safe.”
“I am pleased Bearce Airport will receive this grant of nearly $74,000,
to be used to conduct a study that will identify needed improvements and
upgrades that should be made to their facilities,” said Ross. “Investing
in our region’s airports and other transportation facilities is a crucial
step toward ensuring our region’s long-term, economic development.”
