Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.) today announced that the Department of the Army
has awarded two contracts to Lockheed Martin Corporation for work on rocket
systems. While the work will be split with the company’s facility
in Grand Prairie, TX, 85 percent of the work on each contract will be performed
at East Camden. The contracts come as a result of the Fiscal Year
2003 Defense and Military Construction Appropriations.
“I am pleased to see the funding we fought for in Congress be delivered so quickly,” Ross said. “The 2003 Appropriations included a total $930 million in projects to be completed among the defense contractors at East Camden, creating an opportunity for more jobs in our area during this tough time in our economy.
