(PRESCOTT, AR) - U.S. Rep. Mike Ross (AR-04) issued the following Statement
Saturday regarding the return of hundreds of soldiers from Arkansas's 39th
Brigade, who have been serving overseas in Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi
Freedom.
I would like to welcome home hundreds of soldiers from Arkansas's 39th
Brigade, who will be returning to the United States this coming week from
serving overseas in Iraq. Our brave men and women in uniform left their
jobs and their families to carry out our mission in Iraq, and I know I
can speak on behalf of all Arkansans in saying how proud and grateful we
are for their tremendous courage, and for making these sacrifices.
We welcome home these honorable Americans and those who have already returned
from Iraq with open arms and a proud heart."
According to a press release from the Arkansas Army National Guard,
About 700 soldiers are scheduled to come to Fort Sill, Okla., on flights
arriving this weekend and Monday. An addition 600 guardsmen will be released
from Fort Sill and will return to their respective homes during the same
time period.
These groups of soldiers returning home from Iraq to Ft. Sill areMostly
from the 39th Brigade's 3rd Battalion 153rd Infantry Regiment, with units
in Camden, Crossett, Dumas, El Dorado, Fordyce, Magnolia, McGehee, Monticello,
and Warren. |
