(Washington, D.C.) Fourth District Mike Ross (AR-04) Tuesday proudly
accepted the “Super Hero” award from the National Association of Community
Health Centers (NACHC). The award was presented to Ross by members of the
Arkansas Community Health Center for his dedication and advocacy toward
working to support the needs of community health centers across the country.
“I am very proud to receive this prestigious award from the National
Association of Community Health Centers,” said Ross. “As a Member of Congress
who represents a rural district, I understand the vital importance Community
Health Centers are to our communities. For many, these centers are the
only places families can go to get the health services they need. These
centers especially play a vital role in providing health care services
to the uninsured and the low-income in rural areas. I will always do everything
I can to support the needs of community health centers in Congress.”
“We are very proud of Congressman Mike Ross and all he has done to support
Arkansas’s community health centers and health centers across the country,”
said Sip Mouden, Executive Director of the Arkansas Association of Community
Health Centers. “Not only has Congressman Ross continuously taken the time
to visit our health care centers and view our needs first-hand, but time
and time again he has stepped up to the plate and encouraged his colleagues
in Congress to support our funding needs. Congressman Ross has consistently
gone above and beyond the call of duty to support our Community Health
Centers, and he is very deserving of the Super Hero Award.”
The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) is the
national trade association serving and representing the interests of America’s
community health centers. For nearly 40 years, Community Health Centers
have been responsible for bringing doctors, basic health services and facilities
into the nation’s neediest and most isolated communities. Health centers
serve the working poor, the uninsured, as well as the high-risk and vulnerable
populations. Today, NACHC’s innovative programs in primary and preventative
care serve over 15 million in 3,600 communities across the country. For
