"This holiday season, thousands of Americans are again asking what they can do to show their support for service members, especially those serving overseas in this time of war. While our troops are far away this holiday season, there are things you can do in your own community to show support. · Sign a virtual thank you card by visiting http://www.defendamerica.mil/nmam.html. · Meet with servicemen and women at district military bases to thank them for their service. · Volunteer at a VA Hospital: www.va.gov/vetsday to honor veterans who bore the lamp of freedom in past conflicts. · Reach out to military families in your community, especially those with a loved one overseas. This year, the holiday season will be a difficult time for them, and your warmth will be a welcome gift. "Help me show our men and women protecting our freedom that we love them and are thankful of all they do. My wife, Holly, and our children, Sydney and Alex, join me in wishing you and your loved ones a happy and safe holiday season." |

Fills one of 15 minority slots to hand out committee assignments "I am extremely honored to have been selected for this responsibility," Ross said. "The House minority leader is only allowed 15 appointments to this committee, which fields requests from virtually every Democratic U.S. Representative concerning their committee assignments. I believe that being an effective representative is not about what party you belong to; it's about the role you play in establishing America's priorities and the relationships you build with your colleagues. I think this assignment demonstrates that I've earned the respect of my colleagues, and that my opinion and input do matter. I look forward to this experience and pledge to use it to provide an even stronger voice for the children, seniors and working families of Arkansas's Fourth Congressional District." The Democratic Steering Committee will begin meeting in January. The 108th Congress will convene at noon on Tuesday, January 7, 2003. |

“We chose to relocate for a number of reasons, all of which I believe make our office more useful to people in the Pine Bluff area, and all of Southeast Arkansas,” Ross said. “The move will allow all employees to be based on the same floor and provide more space to assist the people of Arkansas's Fourth Congressional District. It will also enable us to provide a more accessible office for seniors and the handicapped. This is not my office, it's the people’s office, and I hope that you will continue to call on us with problems or concerns with the federal government, or to simply say hello.” The new office will operate under the same hours, and all phone and fax numbers will remain the same. While the office will be closed during the holidays, the voice mail will be checked daily. District Office at Pine Bluff
