MIKE'S WEEKLY MESSAGE

Honoring Our Veterans

At a time when this nation is at war, we should honor not only those soldiers overseas, but also those who fought in wars past. On Thursday, November 11, take a moment to remember our veterans and those who died for our freedom.

As your United States Representative, I will continue to fight for our veterans to ensure they receive the benefits they were promised when they served this great nation. I have been vocal to try to increase military pay and provide increased health benefits to reservists, National Guard soldiers and their families. I will continue to work to extend TRICARE coverage to all military reservists, guardsmen and their families. I have cosponsored legislation that would hold all soldiers to the same standard when deployed overseas, and have traveled to Iraq to make certain our brave men and women are receiving the tools necessary to fight this war.

The people spoke on Tuesday. It is time for the partisan bickering to end and for all of us who are here to serve the people we represent and work together. We are all Americans first and we must all remain united in support of our men and women in uniform and in honor of our veterans.
