Congressman Brown & Century Council Working to Avoid Holiday Tragedies
Announcements Aimed at Drunk Driving and Underage Drinking
Washington,
Dec 14, 2005 -
U.S. Representative Henry E. Brown, Jr. (R-SC), a member of the Congressional Stop DUI Caucus, released a public service announcement to encourage everyone to “Make the Right Choice” to prevent drunk driving and underage drinking. The message was recorded with Susan Molinari, Chair of the Century Council.
“I was proud to work with former Congresswoman Molinari in reminding everyone to enjoy the holidays, but to avoid the tragedy that can result from drunk driving and underage drinking,” Brown said. “We have so much to celebrate during this time of year, but it’s so important to choose carefully before endangering our lives and those we love.”
“In 2004, there were 16, 694 alcohol-related traffic fatalities nationwide according to the NHTSA,” said Molinari. “I look forward to continuing our efforts with the Congressional Stop DUI Caucus and other Members of Congress to relay this important message.”
