Congressman Brown Shows Support for Force Protection
Washington,
Oct 10 -
Congressman Henry Brown today lauded Force Protection Inc., the world’s leading manufacturer of ballistic- and blast-protected vehicles, which have been used to support armed forces and security personnel all over the world, during the company’s visit to Capitol Hill to introduce its new vehicle, the Cheetah.
Force Protection, located in the Charleston, SC area, produces three series of armored vehicles, the Buffalo, Cougar and Cheetah. Force Protection has become the nation’s leading center for blast protection technology and high-tech research and development to thwart improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
“Force Protection Vehicles have withstood thousands of mine detonations and IED attacks in Iraq and Afghanistan without a fatality to a single passenger,” said Brown. “With the innovation of the newest vehicle series, The Cheetah, Force Protection continues its commitment to support the safety of U.S. armed forces. I am proud that Force Protection is building these vehicles in Charleston.”
