Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure
The transportation infrastructure of our state has significant needs to meet the growing demands of our citizens, industry and visitors. We are constantly asked to evaluate the ever-changing network of our ports and waterways, our railways, our air routes, and our roads and bridges.
As a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I am doing everything possible to address this complex system. I am working to rectify the deficiencies that result from our status as a “donor-state” to increase the rate of return on our gasoline taxes.
The completion of the Arthur Ravenel Bridge over the Cooper River and the designation of Interstate 73 as a project of regional significance are just a sampling of the accomplishments that are possible through a cooperative effort of state and federal transportation interests.
