Health Care
United States Department of Health and Human Services
Affordable, high-quality health care is something that all South Carolinians want. Rising health care costs have placed a burden on our families and the businesses that struggle to provide these benefits to their employees.
In Congress, I have worked on this problem from many fronts. We must look at alternative means of providing health care such as Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Association Health Plans (AHPs). We must also recognize the costs associated with medical liability and the need for reform.
Another option, recently made available is the use of the Medicare Prescription Drug Cards. This program will allow our senior citizens and other eligible recipients to have access to a voluntary, comprehensive and affordable prescription drug benefit.
