Foreign exchange students meet with Congressman Gerlach (June 15)
Washington -- Students from the Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program met with Congressman Gerlach during a visit to Washington. The YES program brings high school-aged students from Gaza, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, West Bank, Oman, Palestine, and Yemen to study in American high schools for one school year. Prior to returning home, the studnets spend a week in Washington, D.C., learning about the foundations of democracy and democratic governance.
