Washington, Oct 2, 2003 - Today, Congressman Steve Pearce announced $285,000 for La Clinica de Familia, INC. in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Pearce said the funds will go toward improving the clinic's Information Technology Systems (ITS).

“This is excellent news for La Clinica de Familia,” commented Pearce. “Our medical facilities need the resources to remain up to date with the rapidly changing information systems. This grant is the right step toward accomplishing this goal.”

The Health Resources and Services Administration awarded 36 grants in total throughout the nation. These grants are to serve as catalysts for the planning and implementation of integrated systems among health centers that will improve the quality of services and expand patients’ access to those services.

“Representative Pearce has been a great supporter right out of the box,” stated David Roddy, Project Director. “He has done some excellent work for us.” Roddy concludes, “We’re really excited to have these funds at our disposal; we’ve been working on this for two years.”
