Congressman Scott Announces Funds for Griffin Police

Washington, Nov 9 -

Today, Congressman David Scott (GA-13) announced funding for a project in Griffin. The project was included in the bill funding the U.S. Departments of State, Justice, and Commerce, and other agencies for Fiscal Year 2006. The Griffin Police Department will receive $50,000 for technology upgrades.

“I am pleased to be able to provide the Griffin Police Department with assistance in improving their law enforcement technology,” Congressman Scott said. “Given the extremely tight budget situation in Washington, it is an accomplishment to be able to secure funding for important projects for the residents of Griffin. I salute the men and women who serve in the Griffin Police Department.”

The FY 2006 spending bill was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives today. It must now be signed into law by the President.
