Homelessness, at–risk youth, drug addiction and elderly care continue to be some of the most pronounced needs in our society. We must free ourselves from the myth that only government can provide such vital services. The reality is that reliance on government agencies alone has proven to be insufficient. Faith–based and community organizations have the abundant resources and compassion to effectively address these critical issues in our society and we MUST EMPOWER them. I believe it is important that we pass legislation to treat faith-based and secular organizations equally.
