Press conference announcing Rep. Gerlach's marriage penalty tax relief legislation (April 28)
WASHINGTON -- Rep. Jim Gerlach listens to newlyweds Michael and Jennie Golden of Springfield, Va., discuss how they'd benefit from the permanent elimination of several marriage penalties from the tax code as proposed in H.R. 4181. The bill, which was introduced by Rep. Gerlach and passed the House of Representatives today, would help more than 27 million married couples like the Goldens save more than $300 on their tax bills starting in 2005.
