Rep. Gerlach joins in announcing grant money for Chester County (Oct. 14)
EAST WHITELAND -- Roy Bernardi, deputy secretary for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, announces to the crowd gathered at the former Worthington Steel site off Route 202 that Chester County had received $7 million in grants and guaranteed loans to redevelop the former industrial property into retail space. Officials estimate that the project will create 280 new jobs, as 112,000-square-feet of retail space is built along with a 250-car parking garage.
