INTERIOR SUBCOMMITTEE TO PROBE EFFECTS OF NATURAL GAS COSTS ON CONSUMERS

Interior Appropriations Subcommittee on Wednesday, November 9th at 10 am in B-308 Rayburn will hold a comprehensive hearing to evaluate the effects of record high natural gas prices on citizens who depend on natural gas and the need for Federal policy changes to address natural gas supply and demand.
   
Natural gas prices in the United States have increased 1,139% over the past 15 years.  As of the end of September the price reached an all time high of $14.40 per million BTU (MMBtu).   In March of this year the price was $7.00.
