Capitol Police
  • The bill establishes an Inspector General for the Capitol Police and requires the police to submit regular fiscal reports.  No funds are provided for a proposed six-figure salary position for a publicity director.
  • The mounted horse unit is terminated and the horses and equipment are transferred to the U.S. Park Police.
Capitol Visitor Center
  • Capitol Visitor Center is provided with $42 million which is the amount the Government Accountability Office has determined is necessary to complete the project.  In addition $2 million is provided for the center’s startup operations costs.
Other Items of Interest
  • Includes the text of H.R. 841, the Continuity in Representation Act.
  • Allows unspent Member Representational Allowances funds to be used for deficit reduction. 
  • Fully funds staff COLA and transit benefit.
