FLORISSANT, MO - Senator Kit Bond today announced that the city of Florissant will receive $206,000 in federal funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

"For low income families or families in crisis these housing dollars will offer some real relief," said Bond, who as Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee that funds HUD, has earmarked money for these programs. "I will continue to be an advocate for programs that help all families find affordable and safe housing."

The $206,000 in formula funds HUD is releasing to Florissant today is in addition to the already $80,000 released in fiscal year 2003, bringing the city's total to $286,000. The funding is part of the Community Development Block Grant program.

Kit Bond is Missouri’s senior Senator and is now in his third term after having served the state previously during two terms as Governor.
