WASHINGTON, DC –– U.S. Senator Kit Bond today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved a federal Rural Development award for the Village of Halfway in Polk County.

"These dollars will go a long way in helping the Village of Halfway meet the water and waste disposal needs of its community," said Bond.

The USDA will send the Village of Halfway a $90,000 grant fora new central sewage system. The funds will be used to cover construction over-bids incurred in conjunction with the construction of a central sewerage system. The project consists of a sewage treatment facility and a collection system. It is supplemented with funds provided through the Community Development Block Grant program, as well as State and City contributions.

Kit Bond is Missouri’s senior Senator and is now in his third term after having served the state previously during two terms as Governor.
