BOND ANNOUNCES $100,000 FOR MOVE UP
Dollars Will Target Kansas City’s At-Risk Youth

KANSAS CITY, MO - Senator Kit Bond announced today the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) awarded $100,000 in federal money to the Kansas City Move UP Coalition.
"This additional money will be a tremendous boost for those working to improve their community," said Bond. "It is my hope this money will help reduce substance abuse, homelessness and poverty among the youth population in the urban core of Kansas City."
The Community Movement of Urban Progress (Move UP) is a community based organization that serves the urban core of Kansas City. Move UP will use the Drug-Free Communities Support Program grant to target at risk youth by providing direct intervention and promoting a healthy and safe community.
Senator Kit Bond served Missouri twice as Governor and is now in his third term in the United States Senate. Bond is a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee.
