WASHINGTON, DC –– U.S. Senator Kit Bond today announced that the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will send Kansas City $15 million in federal funds to improve security at the Kansas City International Airport.

"In this age of heightened security continuing to improve the safety at our airports must remain a priority," said Bond. "The $15 million for the Kansas City airport announced today will make everyone in Kansas City and all those that travel through the KC airport safer."

Kansas City International Airport will receive $15,000,000 from the FAA for security enhancements. This is in addition to the more than $4 million Bond has announced for improvements to the Kansas City airport since May.

As a member of the Senate Appropriations Transportation Subcommittee and senior Senator from Missouri, Bond has secured millions of dollars for Missouri airports over the past fiscal years.

Kit Bond is Missouri’s senior Senator and is now in his third term after having served the state previously during two terms as Governor.
