House Democrats successfully fought to pass legislation implementing the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission.  This bill, which passed over the objections of some powerful congressional Republicans, overhauls our intelligence agencies; improves aviation, border, and maritime security; and facilitates the work of police, firefighters, and other emergency responders.  This bill also creates a Director of National Intelligence.  Learn more about the 9/11 legislation:
