Wyden, Smith Announce $750,000 For Klamath Falls
International
Airport
Funds from Department of Transportation
will help rehabilitate runway

Washington, DC – U.S.
Senators Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Gordon Smith (R-Ore.) today announced
that the City of Klamath Falls will receive $750,000 for a pavement
study and rehabilitation of the runway at the Klamath Falls International
Airport. These federal funds are being provided by the U.S. Department
of Transportation (DOT).
“This runway construction
project will not only increase safety and convenience for many
citizens in this region, but will contribute to the area’s
accessibility and economic growth now and in the future,”
said Wyden.
“The Klamath Falls Airport
is an important link for businesses and residents in Klamath Falls
and the surrounding region,” said Smith. “These funds
are crucial to maintaining the airport’s current capabilities
as well as expanding them to accommodate future cargo and passengers.”
The Klamath Falls Airport offers
commercial air and general aviation services and is home to the
Oregon Air National Guard 173rd Fighter Wing.
