Friday, April 15, 2005 Hoyer Visits Greenwell State Park with Students Congressman Steny Hoyer joined officials from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and students from Leonardtown High School at Greenwell State Park on the Patuxent River for a demonstration of the “B-WET” program in recognition of Environmental Education Week (April 10 – 16) and Earth Day (April 22). (RELATED LINK) Friday, April 01, 2005 Hoyer Delivers $1.1 Million for New Fire Trucks to Naval District Washington at Indian Head Congressman Hoyer joined Naval District Washington Fire Chief Edward Stillwell (on his left); Bruce Poore, President of the IAFF Chapter at the U.S. Naval Academy and IAFF liaison for federal facilities in Maryland (on his right); and Joe Gronau, President of the IAFF Chapter at the Indian Head Fire Department (far right) to announce the award of $1.1 million Hoyer secured for the Naval District Washington. At Congressman Hoyer’s request, this funding was included in the Fiscal Year 2005 Defense Appropriations bill passed by the Congress last year and will be used to purchase three fire vehicles, one of which will be located at Indian Head Naval Surface Warfare Center. Tuesday, March 29, 2005 Hoyer Visits Hubble Lab at Goddard and Calls for Full Funding for Servicing Mission Congressman Hoyer visited the Goddard Space Flight Center to tour the laboratory that is being used to build the Robotic Arm that was designed to service Hubble. Hoyer was led on the tour by Frank Ceppolina, Project Manager of the Hubble Space Telescope Servicing Mission. (RELATED LINK)
