DENVER, CO – On the eve of his keynote address to the National Farmers’ Union Annual Convention in Colorado, United States Senator Ken Salazar today previewed his speech by releasing several excerpts. Senator Ken Salazar is championing rural America in the Senate, and will be outlining his vision for the future of rural America this Friday at the National Farmers’ Union Annual Convention. Some Quotes of Note from the Senator’s upcoming speech: “Our rural communities are at a turning point. While they continue their great legacy, they are also emerging as reservoirs of vast potential to drive America toward a viable twenty-first century economy and meaningful national security…” “Rural America will be a keystone in the building of our new energy economy, and in the effort to rid our nation of its dependence on foreign oil … we can and we must reclaim leadership of the renewable fuels industry…” “With the help of broadband, this thriving rural America will be fully integrated and connected to the rest of the country and the rest of the economy … We will tap the potential of telemedicine to keep us strong.
