Oversight and Investigations
I currently serve as the Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. The Subcommittee has jurisdiction over the five Cabinet-level departments and seven independent agencies – including the Departments of Energy, Health and Human Services, Transportation, the Federal Trade Commission, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Federal Communications Commission – and various quasi-governmental organizations that are covered by the full Committee.
During the 109th Congress, the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee has held investigative hearings on the following issues and topics:
