Statement From Chairman Buyer

Statement from Rep. Steve Buyer, Chairman of the Committee on Veterans' Affairs, in connection with release of the VA Inspector General's May 19, 2005, "Review of State Variances in VA Disability Compensation Payments": 

"I applaud the fact that the VA requested this review by the Inspector General.  Due to Secretary Nicholson's leadership, the Department has accepted the review's recommendations for improvement and is developing solutions to improve consistency in its disability compensation rating decisions," Chairman Buyer said.
