VETERANS’ AFFAIRS SUBCOMMITTEE ON ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY HOLDS HEARING

Yesterday,
The House Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Economic
Opportunity held a hearing to examine the performance of the
Department of Labor, Veterans Employment and Training Service (VETS)
in administering its several programs, its resource needs, and
review the state grant program that funds Disabled Veteran Outreach
Program Specialists (DVOPS) and Local Veterans Employment
Representatives (LVER).
“We
want to ensure that veterans are properly prepared for and remain in
good jobs. This hearing provided the opportunity to hear from a
group with diverse opinions and ideas that will certainly benefit
the veterans’ employment and training outreach programs,” said
Subcommittee Chairman John Boozman.
