The Congressional Medal of Merit for Outstanding Youth Leadership will recognize exceptional high school seniors throughout the Eighth Congressional District. The Medal of Merit is designed to honor and acknowledge outstanding students in the community. This annual award will be offered to seniors who have shown exemplary citizenship and achieved academic excellence. Students displaying leadership in the areas of community service, school citizenship, and extracurricular activities are candidates for this prestigious award.
To be eligible for the Congressional Medal of Merit, the student must be a high school Senior graduating by July, 2006, from a school in the Eighth Congressional District. One student from each high school will be selected to receive this award. All nominations must be completed and returned to Congressman Mike Rogers’ Lansing District Office for consideration by April 14, 2006. Winners of the Congressional Medal of Merit will be announced at the end of April.
