Attention:  Jamie Swafford

Due to procedural changes in the Capitol Hill mail handling process since the events of September 11, 2001, the Subcommittee is no longer able to accept courier deliveries, and postal deliveries may experience necessary delays.  Therefore, as an alternative, you may submit your testimony electronically at approp.ag@mail.house.gov in Microsoft Word format.  Submit your testimony EITHER electronically or through the postal mail service.

Testimony is limited to not more than five single-spaced, letter-size pages, typed on only one side of each page.  Although maps, pictures, graphs, letters, telegrams, petitions, and the like may be submitted for the information of the Subcommittee, it is not feasible to include them in the printed hearing record.

The Rules of the House require additional information from nongovernmental witnesses.

According to clause 2(g)(4) of Rule XI,

In the case of a witness appearing in a nongovernmental capacity, a written statement of proposed testimony shall include a disclosure of the amount and source (by agency and program) of each Federal grant (or sub-grant thereof) or contract (or sub-contract thereof) received during the current fiscal year or either of the two previous fiscal years by the witness or by an entity represented by the witness.

Consistent with this rule, the Subcommittee directs that all public testimony be accompanied by the disclosure described above.  This supplementary information is not subject to the five-page limitation for written testimony.

Thank you again for your interest in the activities of the Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration and Related Agencies.  If you have any questions or require further information, please contact Jamie Swafford of the Subcommittee staff at (202) 225-2638.
