Thomas Statement on Dirk Kempthorne for Interior:

March 16th, 2006 - WASHINGTON – The following is a statement from U.S. Senator Craig Thomas (R-.Wyo.) following President Bush’s announcement of Gov. Dirk Kempthorne (R-Idaho) to be the next Secretary of the Interior:

“Dirk and I have worked successfully together in the past. I think the President has made a wise choice. I will certainly be an advocate during the confirmation process in the Senate Energy Committee. We have a lot of tough challenges ahead of us with public lands and natural resource issues and it’s time to dig in.”
