Thursday, June 30, 2005 Hoyer Announces $127.6 Million for FDA Consolidation Efforts at White Oak in House Bill
Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) announced that the FY 2006 Transportation, Treasury, and Housing and Urban Development Appropriations bill, passed by the House of Representatives today, includes $127.6 million for the Food and Drug Administration to help complete a major construction project that will consolidate all FDA offices and labs into one state-of-the-art campus in White Oak, Maryland. The entire FDA consolidation project is expected to be completed in 2010 and will eventually provide office and research space for over 7,700 employees.

Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) today congratulated the winner of the 64th race of the “Greater Washington Soap Box Derby” which took place on the grounds of the United States Capitol on June 18. Robert “Robbie” Reuss of Waldorf was the winner of the Masters Division race; last year, Robbie was the winner of the Super Stock Division race. Robbie will compete in the national competition held in Akron, Ohio on July 30.
