Library of Congress

The Library of Congress is the U.S. government's online resource for materials and information about U.S. and world culture. The Library also maintains THOMAS, a searchable database of legislative information.

Congressional Internships in Oregon’s First District

I offer student internships opportunities in both my Portland and Washington, D.C. offices to help Oregon high school or college students interested in a hands-on opportunity to learn about Federal policy and the ways in which elected officials represent their constituents.

Congressional Art Contest

Every year my office holds an art contest for High School students in the 1st Congressional district. The contest is held each year in early spring. The contest winner's artwork hang in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol Building for one year.

Congressional Youth Leadership Council

The Congressional Youth Leadership Council program scholars represent the upper echelon of today's youth in both academic performance and community leadership. Each student is hand-selected for nomination by distinguished educators, mentors or CYLC program alumni, ensuring that every participant possesses the drive and determination to emerge as a future& world leader.
