Voting Record

Being accountable to the people of the 10th District of Virginia is among the most important responsibilities I have as a member of Congress and making my complete voting record to you continues my practice each year of letting the people I represent know my votes on all matters coming before Congress.

The voting record report for 1999 includes the votes I cast in the 1st Session of the 106th Congress which was in session from January 6- November 19, 1999. There were 611 roll call votes during the 1st Session. I missed only one vote for a voting attendance record of 99.8 percent. The 611 roll call votes include 104 procedural votes. Those votes, such as rules for consideration of bills and resolutions, approval of the Speaker's journal (or the minutes of the previous day's business), quorum calls, motions to adjourn, motions to table votes, and motions to rise from consideration of legislation, are not listed in this report. I hope you find this information helpful.
