Congressman Watt Announces "Trading Places" Schedule
Watt to work alongside 12th District citizens July 31 – August 3

WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman Melvin Watt (D-NC) has issued his schedule for the congressional district work period from July 31-August 4. The week will include "Trading Places," in which Congressman Watt will work alongside citizens in communities throughout the 12th Congressional District. This annual event provides an opportunity for Congressman Watt to hear the concerns of constituents and learn more about the variety of businesses in the 12th District.

Congressman Watt will kick off “Trading Places” with a Town Hall Meeting on Monday, July 31 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Webb Hall on the campus of North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro. The Town Hall meeting will focus on the crisis in Sudan and will provide information on federal and state efforts to stop the genocide in Darfur and how citizens can contribute to humanitarian efforts to end the suffering in Sudan. Congressman Watt will also discuss and respond to questions about other issues of importance to 12th District Constituents.

Description: The Center of Hope is a 198 bed facility for homeless women and children. The center provides daycare services for residents to enable them to find and keep work. Mel will be the Resource Coordinator in the Resource Center. The Resource Center provides job information for the unemployed women living in the shelter.
