If you wish to contact Chris, please note
the following.
Because he receives a large volume of
mail from other parts of the country, he has to restrict his
responses to mail that comes from those who live in the cities
and towns that make up the Eighth Congressional District of
Maryland. For this reason, he is using the House of
Representatives' Write Your Representative E-mail system,
which requires people to submit geographical information in
order to send a message. If you are a resident of our
District, and you would like to receive a response, please
include your street address and e-mail address. You will
receive a response in as timely a manner as possible. Because
of limited staff and office resources, he will not be able to
respond to e-mails from people who live outside the Eighth
Congressional District.
If you live in our district and
you need assistance with a matter relating to the
federal government, such as a problem with your Social
Security, please do not send an electronic message.
Instead, please call the nearest district office where
our staff can better assist you.
If you are
writing to Congressman Van Hollen for assistance on
a personal matter, please do not use this e-mail system.
Instead, you will be able to obtain assistance more
quickly by contacting my Rockville office at 301-424-3501
or my Mount Rainier office at 301-927-5223, or by writing
to Congressman Van Hollen at either of the addresses
in Maryland below.
Please also be advised that mail to Capitol Hill undergoes
a lengthy anthrax screening process which often delays
delivery. Mail to the Rockville or Mount Rainier offices
is delivered more promptly than mail to Capitol Hill.
