Social Security

Preserving the solvency of the Social Security system is a priority for me. The Social Security trustees, senior groups such as AARP, and independent economists have all warned for years of the serious structural problems facing Social Security. While it is our duty to protect the benefits of current and near retirees, it is also important to explore proposals that would preserve benefits for future retirees. The longer we wait to take action, the more difficult and expensive the changes will be. I will continue fighting to make sure all Americans can retire with peace of mind and receive the full benefits they have earned.
