Immigration

We cannot have a secure nation without secure borders. With more than 500,000 people entering the U.S. illegally each year and an estimated 300,000 illegal immigrants living in North Carolina, the time for meaningful immigration reform is now. We need to stop illegal immigration through tougher federal enforcement of existing immigration laws as well as better control of our borders. Illegal immigration should not be tolerated or rewarded and we should do all we can to protect against unlawful entry into our country and fraudulent use of our taxpayer-funded government programs. We are a nation of immigrants, but we are also a nation of laws.
