Internship and Page Programs

Foxx Intern Program

The intern program is designed to provide an opportunity to learn about the legislative branch of government through participation. We are always accepting applications from interested students. Interns are unpaid and therefore interns need to provide their own housing.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Phone Duties
  • Legislative Research
  • Capitol Tours
  • Attending Committee Meetings and Seminars
  • Answer Mail
  • Update Computer Records
  • Run Errands
  • General assistance to staff to help keep the office running smoothly

Foxx Page Program

The office of Congresswoman Virginia Foxx has finished accepting applicants for the SUMMER 2006 Republican Page Program. The first Summer Session will begin June 12, 2006 and conclude June 30, 2006. The second Summer Session will last from July 10, 2006 through July 28, 2006.

foxx with page0.JPGTo be qualified to serve as a Page, all applicants must be at least 16 years of age at the time their appointment begins, a junior in high-school and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0/B or 80/100 in the five major subjects.

All applicants must complete an application form and provide the following; social security number, signed parental consent form, official transcript of all high-school grades to date, a 50-100 word essay on why they want to be a Republican Page, resume of extra-curricular activities and three letters of recommendation.

All completed applications should have been returned to the office of Congresswoman Foxx no later than April 1, 2006. All applications will be reviewed. The two best-qualified applicants will be selected as primary and alternate candidates. Selected applicants will be notified through the sponsoring Member's office.
