Regrettably, the Administration and the
Republican Majority in Congress have failed to provide relief to
consumers. In Congress, I am working hard to help Americans struggling
with spiraling gas prices and I have proposed concrete steps we can
take to lower gas prices, reduce our dependence on foreign oil,
increase our energy efficiency standards, and invest in new sources of
