Earns a 100% rating for his support of America's small business owners.
Washington, DC -
U.S. Congressman John F. Tierney (D-Salem) earned a 100% rating for his support of America's small business owners, according to the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce (USWCC).
"Congressman Tierney has been a champion of the needs of small business owners and their employees," said Margot Dorfman, CEO of the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce. "We're appreciative of his support on initiatives that deliver true economic development opportunities to America's small business community."
The USWCC voting record scorecard for the 109th Congress rated Members of the U.S. House of Representatives based on nine votes pertaining to support of family farms, micro-lending, low-income areas, hurricane and disaster relief, federal contracting opportunities, and a strong Small Business Bill of Rights. The report was conducted in conjunction with the National Procurement Council, American Small Business League, Latino American Management Association, Small Business Majority and Business Professional Women/USA.
"I am proud to have received this distinction from the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce. As a former small business owner, I believe that small businesses are a critical part of promoting economic growth and I will continue to support legislation that improves opportunities for small business owners," said Congressman John Tierney.
The USWCC currently represents the economic development interests of over 23 million small business owners and 450,000 members across the nation. Founded in 2001, the USWCC is committed to promoting economic and leadership opportunities for all women by providing programs and benefits to assist their economic growth, lobbying for members and building a community voice on these issues.
