The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center has been renamed in honor of local war hero Thomas Creek. Congressman Thornberry was among the speakers paying tribute to Creek during the renaming ceremony held at the Thomas E. Creek Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Veterans Day, November 11, 2005. Congressman Thornberry worked with local veterans to get the facility renamed.
