-- Ron, chair of
the Oregon Business Plan (OBP) Leadership Committee,
and Bill Thorndike, chair of the OBP Steering Committee
led a statewide business tour in August, holding forums
throughout Oregon to provide an update on the Oregon
Business Plan and to obtain local ideas on how to foster
economic growth. The statewide tour focused on efforts
to create more quality jobs in Oregon.
The tour included forums in Medford,
Klamath Falls, Bend, Eugene, Newport, The Dalles, Pendleton,
La Grande and John Day. Feedback from the forums will
help shape the agenda for the third annual Economic
Leadership Summit, which will be held in Portland on
December 6. Pictures from the Oregon Business Plan tour

is a significant departure from the way economic development has
been conducted in the past. The best economic development is bottom-up,
not top-down."
